‘Historic Investment’ of $23M for Puerto Rico Water Infrastructure Projects Green-Lit
The funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will go towards projects in five municipalities.

Today, the EPA announced that a “historic investment” for water infrastructure projects in Puerto Rico has been approved.
A total of $23,214,000 in funds will go towards projects in five municipalities, per a news release. The approved projects in Coamo, Jayuya, Naranjito and Orocovis involve “the design and construction of sanitary sewer systems,” while the project in Caguas will focus on transforming a wastewater treatment facility into a wastewater pump station, the EPA said.
The funding comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“When water infrastructure fails, it threatens people’s health and the environment. This Bipartisan Infrastructure Law investment will improve the lives of Puerto Rico communities facing major water challenges,”said EPA Regional Administrator Lisa F. Garcia in the news release.
