The EPA has announced the next phase of its agency-wide reorganization, implementing structural changes designed to improve operations, align resources with mission goals, and enhance support for clean air, land, and water efforts nationwide.
The updates affect multiple divisions within the agency, including the Office of Mission Support, the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, and the Office of Land and Emergency Management.
A key component of this effort is the creation of a new Office of Finance and Administration, designed to streamline EPA’s financial and administrative functions. The new office will consolidate operations such as grants management, acquisitions, human resources, IT, and information management, improving internal coordination and supporting oversight efforts.
“These structural changes reinforce EPA’s unwavering commitment to fulfill its statutory obligations and uphold fiscal responsibility,” said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin. “By partnering our operations and mission support services, we can deliver results for American communities while remaining good stewards of taxpayer dollars.”
Other updates include:
- Enhancing enforcement and compliance efforts to better align with environmental regulations and support community health.
- Strengthening the Office of Land and Emergency Management to improve emergency response, land cleanup, and contamination prevention.
- Continuing improvements begun in Phase One, such as the launch of the Office of State Air Partnerships, restructuring within the Office of Water, and expanded support for chemical safety and environmental science initiatives.
The announcement is part of the EPA’s ongoing work to improve internal operations and fulfill its statutory obligations more effectively.
